Dear Friends of Romania, Greetings in Christ! As you may be aware, in 2006, Emmanuel Covenant Church partnered with Gheorghe and Maria Medrea to start the Emmanuel-Maria Foundation based in Arad, Romania. The purpose of the organization is to provide financial funding to support the tremendous mission work this foundation does in the name of Christ with the poor, the orphans, the elderly, and the sick in Arad, Romania and the surrounding communities. The Emmanuel-Maria Foundation provides assistance to a wide variety of people with a wide range of real needs every month.For example, in a recent month the foundation provided cooking gas for families in need, provided aid to students struggling to buy books, visited the elderly and the disabled in Arad nursing homes, and provided needed support for 10 families in Petris and 6 families in Arad. Remarkably the foundation has tended to and cared for over 840 families or individuals in the last 4 months! What’s even more significant is that the Medrea’s have done this work for over a decade, in a superior manner, with a remarkably low level of overhead, and all in the name of Christ!
